One Month Old

Here is the first hinting of a smile from Mr. Seth.

And here I think it looks like he's trying to say "Hi!"

And here is a link to the rest of the photos I took... well, 20 of the 196 total shots!

I Can Do This

Sometimes I'm not sure how to play with boys... I can only build towers with blocks, and my car noises aren't really up to par. But today I think I outdid myself with our giraffe construction!

Ian is ready for summer. We got a package today with his new sunglasses and swim diapers in it. His shirt is wet in the photos because he was playing in the sink. The neighborhood pool is now open on weekends and will open all day in June (that's like NEXT WEEK, people!) so we need to get our membership card updated and get out there! Ian is also signed up for swimming lessons starting on June 7!

Seth didn't care much for the sunglasses when Ian put them on him. I took a lot of "one month" photos of him today, but he was crying in about half of them. Plus, Ian didn't help much with the photo shoot. It was pretty comical actually... I've got a video of both of them crying... and then finally a video of both of them happy. I'm sure I'll post those soon.

The Boys

This week, Seth started playing (somewhat) with toys. He can at least spot the monkey, and he even batted a hand at it. He got wide-eyed when he touched it.

Mr. Ian has been a handful lately. Tonight we got rid of a handful of hair, too. Or more like a headful! Here is the little boy haircut for the summer.

And I thought this was a fun picture of the boys vacuuming together.

Brothers

Here are the inevitable pics where the kids are wearing the same outfit... Ian is three weeks old in the first picture, and Seth is two weeks old in the second.

And here are some fun pics of the boys together. The goal of the photo shoot was to capture that they were both wearing alligator shirts that say "Chomp," however the cutest photos were ones where they were interacting rather than showing off their shirts.

Not the same kid

Of course we are always comparing things that happened with Ian to how things are going with Seth. I did this all throughout my pregnancy... but hey, it's because that's my only point of reference. Naturally, since Seth has been born, we are trying to figure out if he looks like Ian or not. In some ways, yes, but I only really catch a glimpse of it and usually in a picture rather than in person. I think they'll look like brothers for sure, but Seth seems to have a look all his own.

And so far, Seth acts differently from Ian, too.

First of all, when it comes to eating, that kid gets down to business. Ian would hang out and eat for 45 minutes to an hour. Seth is usually done in 15-20 minutes. For someone who doesn't just love nursing her babies, this is a welcome respite.

Seth doesn't like anything cold. Ian would take a bottle straight from the fridge. No can do with Mr. Seth. He also didn't like the cold gripe water. (Ian sucked that stuff down.)

Seth screams in the car. He doesn't seem to like the carseat either. Ian would sleep for hours in that carseat when he wouldn't sleep anywhere else... and he almost always fell asleep instantly in the car. Seth will fall asleep after he's screamed himself to the point of exhaustion... this has happened three times in the car now, so it hasn't been every time, thankfully.

Seth has taken to the baby wrap pretty well. Ian was always a little finicky about it.

Seth would like for you to change his diaper when it's wet/dirty. Ian could care less.

And that is all I can think of right now. It's going to be fun to see more as Seth grows and develops! He definitely IS his own little person and maybe one of these days we'll stop comparing him to big brother. :-)
