Among life's most pressing questions...

Does chocolate cause heartburn?

I have never really struggled with heartburn until now. And man, this is not a pleasant sensation, no wonder people still buy Zantac and Prilosec even though their commercials are super cheesy. (Turns out both of these drugs are OK during pregnancy.)

So, I've learned which foods to avoid. But chocolate? Really? I mean, you can have my spicy foods, my salsa, my dijon mustard (that was a doozy the other day), my orange juice... but NOOOOO, not my chocolate!! (I am basing this on my recent experiences with fondue, oreos, and a hershey bar.)

If you ate the fondue, oreos and hershey bar all in one sitting, THAT might be the cause for heartburn. ;)

Sorry for the pregnancy woes! Just a few more weeks!

I don't know if you saw this follow-up comment on my blog, but Abbey says everything causes heartburn toward the end.

I did see that. Bummer.

I'm sorry if I'm complaining. My pregnancy could've been so much worse from what I hear from others, I really should feel blessed.

its almost over, boo. just when you think you cannot possibly stand being pregnant, you will be in labor and thinking how you need just one more day before the new guy comes... soon, my love, soon!

I'm breaking the rules.... I noticed that your baby ticker says "13 days" remaining. Ack!! That's so close! I'm starting to freak out for you. :)

just want to give kudos on the cute belly pic in your last baby blog post. I appreciate that you even put on the same shoes and similar (if not the-same-but-unbuttoned shorts) in addition to standing in the same location facing the same direction. I see these well-thought out details in your work and fully realize your genius! Muah!

Unfortunately, chocolate does cause heartburn in some unfortunate souls. I decided that the bliss of cocoa outweighed the burn.

Hang in there! We'll all meet the sweet lil' guy soon!

Oh man, MAB, the night we had Baris and Coldstone was the worst night, yet. I got home around 10 and felt fine, so I just went to bed. Then I woke up around 1:30 ON FIRE! But that's OK, small price to pay for a night of yummy food and fun with a friend.

In case anyone is wondering, you can take Zantac while pregnant, although I think Tums works better. At least it does for me... I don't know what I'd do without my Tums, oh the chalky berry flavoredness of them.
