Did you hear that they're extending Daylight Saving Time this year? It starts March 11 (beginning of Spring Break) and ends November 4. It used to start early April and end late October. Here is some more information about it, if you care.
I think this is great news! I drove home in the dark last night, and it was only 6:30. I feel so sleepy in the evenings because of the darkness. And generally, I don't like the dark, so I welcome an earlier start to seemingly longer days with more light.
In other news, it is confirmed that I have grown in height. I put on a pair of pants the other day that I haven't worn since we were in Paris two years ago. They were too short. I was even wearing the same shoes. I know this because I remember this particular pair of pants dragging the ground slightly as we traipsed through Paris. It was rainy, so the bottom of my pant cuffs were wet and muddy. Now they sit about an inch above the sole of my shoe.
I had noticed that my dress pants seemed shorter, and wearing heals makes it more obvious. I generally shop for petites which end at 5'4''. But I don't feel that I can wear regular length either, they still seem too long. I guess I'm just an in-between size, and I'm too cheap to get my pants tailored.
A few perks to the church job: Dress code! So, who cares if my dress pants are too short? I don't have to wear them here! Also, it was neat to listen in on someone in the office preparing for a Bible study yesterday. There are some amazing people working here. And earlier today, I had four Bibles out looking at a particular verse in different versions. I felt very ministerial... even if it was just so I could put the verse on the front cover of the bulletin!
Lastly, I can go home tonight and not have to do church stuff at home. Over the past year, I have been doing bank stuff 40 hours a week and church stuff on nights and weekends. It is nice to make this second job, of sorts, a real day job! Finally!

I'm about 5'5" so I am with you on the pant thing. It is wierd though, because I haven't bought dress pants in a year or so and I used to not have trouble finding them. But around Christmas when I had Christmas money, (and Express's editor pants were $20 off...) I couldn't find any that fit. But a friend teacher who is shorter than me says she gets everything tailored and it only costs like $8 for a pair of pants. So I think I am going to get some stuff tailored next time I need pants. And yay for a more relaxed dress code! I am excited for you to find a job that you will feel more fulfilled at! :)
Yes, ditto Teresa. I pay to get my pants hemmed (it's $10 at my cleaners) but it's worth it to find something that fits.
And I'm glad you like the new job thing. Blessings on you!
WOOOHOO for Karen....I am so glad that you joined the "work from home club"! So when should we have a "meeting"....this meaning lunch to officially welcome you to the club? :0)
Yea! Karen, glad to hear you have found a good home...at least for now...in the work world. It truly makes a difference who you surround yourself with on how you feel.
As for the pants...maybe you washed them wrong! =)
As for hemming...poor little short people...what about us taller people where everything is too short but the longs are just rediculous! I guess everyone has issues!
PLEASE! see my blog on myspace regarding my recent pants nightmare!

Yay for more sunlight!! What a great year to be alive! :)
I am only about 5'6 (maybe and one-half), but my problem is that many of my pants are too short. Maybe I'm shrinking them all in the wash, but I'm stuck in very flat shoes to be able to get away with half of my pants in public. Weird.
P.S. I'm glad that you are loving the new job and the flexibility of the church work. Sounds great!
