You know, everyone has had trouble with their four books. I feel so unintelligent! For a girl who used to read all the time, I can't believe I can't spout off four (and more) books that are must-reads and that I could read again.
I'm reading Chronicles of Narnia right now (although I've "paused" for about a week now for some reason). I think I'll read those again, but mainly because I'd like to read them to my kids. So...maybe we're just really discriminating. It takes a really good book for us to put it on our list! :)
How about:
Tolkien:
The Hobbit
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
C.S.Lewis:
The Chronicles of Narnia
L.M.Montgomery:
Pat of Silver Bush
Mistress Pat
Anne of Green Gables series
Mark Twain:
Puddinhead Wilson
Tom Sawyer, Adv. of Huck Funn
Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series
White:
The Once and Future King
Douglas:
The Robe
oops, I mean, Carolyn
Well, sure, we've read all or most of those, but who has reread them without the impetus of having a child who needs to hear them? I just don't think I'm a re-reader.
Some of my all time favorite books are books by Janette Oke. I have them all and love to read them over and over. Another favorite author of mine is Eugenia Price. She is great.
YOU NEED TO BLOG AGAIN!!! :)
Friday pushed my caps lock key. Sorry. :)
